Speaker: Mark Allen is an educator, speaker, consultant, and author who currently serves as a faculty member in the department of organizations and management at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management where he previously served for ten years as Director of Executive Education. He is also a Senior Associate with the Kiely Group and a Senior Faculty Member of the Human Capital Institute., As an internationally-recognized authority, he is a popular speaker and has published and presented research on corporate universities and non-traditional higher education. Other research interests include the assessment of training and development programs and the evaluation of teaching and learning in postsecondary and adult education. He serves as a consultant to both new and mature corporate universities. Mark serves on the Board of Regents of the University of Farmers at Farmers Insurance Company and on the Board of Advisors of the Global Council of Corporate Universities. Have we just improved the names, or has there been a true upgrade in the strategic contributions of these functions? In this session, we will explore the true nature of both talent management and corporate universities and look at the relationship between the two. Using numerous real-world examples, we will explore the various functions that corporate universities undertake to help attract, develop, and retain talent.
