After hosting events with executives from Universal Music, Warner Bros and FOX, the Graziadio Entertainment Society will have the honor to welcome Sean O'Malley, currently COO at Global Music Rights. Sean was also a former Strategic Director at ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). He will help us understand the issues surrounding music rights and the new wave of digital innovation in the music industry.
The Q&A Executive Series is an opportunity for students who are interested working in Entertainment to meet executives in Film, Music and Sports.

Speaker: Sean O'Malley is COO at Global Music Rights, a music rights management company founded by Irving Azoff and Randy Grimmett, and part of Azoff MSG Entertainment. His role at Global Music Rights includes all operational aspects, system development, writer and publisher client relations, research and development of strategic initiatives and other activities focused on increasing GMR's effectiveness in performance royalty licensing and collection. A Los Angeles native, O'Malley first worked in the recording industry before pursuing a career in music publishing. Sean began working at ASCAP in 2005 and was promoted through the ranks to Senior Director of Strategic Services before leaving. While at ASCAP, O'Malley shepherded the creation and launch of ASCAP OnStage and its mobile component, enabling ASCAP writers to be paid for their live performances in any size venue in the United States. He also developed their latest online membership application as well as numerous internal operational improvements. O'Malley has been featured as a guest lecturer at USC, CSUN and Grammy Camp and taught a course about music publishing at Cal Poly Pomona for several years.
