Join the Pepperdine community as we take a moment to stop and reflect on the tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001. This service will remember and honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks as well as all those whose lives were forever changed on that day.

Led by Pepperdine faculty and staff members, this poignant memorial service will include scripture reading, prayer, the laying of a memorial wreath, and a short devotional message.

What Color is Your Parachute? by Richard Nelson Bolles is a book for job-seekers that has been in print since 1970 and it is one of the most highly regarded career advice books in print. 95% of all jobs are gotten through networking.  In this workshop I will define networking and the hidden job market. I will teach successful network strategies to get a new job or more customers or clients for your business.  Participants will have the opportunity to practice networking, and they will answer common networking questions.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
Understand why networking is the most effective way to get a promotion or a better job.
  • Learn the five most important questions to ask when job hunting.
  • How to identify who to ask to get what you want.
  • Identify what the Hidden Job market is and how to tap into it.
  • Understand how people choose with whom they want to hire or promote.
  • Master the art of self-introduction and one-to-one speaking skills.
  • Answer that dreaded first question, “So tell me about yourself?”
  • Learn the three most important things to ask for when networking
